I'm ok with the rock intro, but the rest of the game STFU and let the band play. It's part of college football, and Kinnick atmosphere changed for the worse when the scoreboard noise barrage was introduced in the 90's. Seeing the band sit quietly during commercials is especially maddening, do they still do that?
That said... for God's sake retire Sweet Caroline. Real bands do not play Sweet Caroline.
