We all want a winner and get wrapped up in the week to week performance of our Hawks. It's easy to forget just how hard these young men work, and how much dedication it takes to be a D-1 football player. It's physically demanding, no... punishing, requires time management skills that most adults never master and defines the college years for these kids. They live football. You think we feel bad about a loss? ... for these guys, it's their world.
Yes, they get some nice benefits... a scholarship, training table, academic help etc. But these guys work for and earn every bit of it.
Thank you Seniors. You're completing your time in the program, but you'll always be Hawkeyes.
