Texas will still be rank ahead of Iowa.....

I'm calling the conspiracy right now. I bet Texas will still be ranked ahead of Iowa in the AP and coach's polls after getting dominated by an unranked PAC-10 UCLA team at home.

Yeah, Texas did have a great run defense until they played a "run first" team. Texas is SO overrated.

I wouldn't be surprised.

Texas loses big at HOME to a 1-2 PAC 10 team. Iowa loses close on the ROAD to a 3-0 #18 PAC 10 team and fell 9 spots. Texas SHOULD fall to at least #20 based on this logic. However, don't be shocked if we see Iowa stay put at #18 (or even move down one) and I believe Texas drops no further than to #15.

After all their name is still "TEXAS"

I just stated this on facebook, and came over here to create this thread. The voters need to put up or shut up on this one. TE$$$AS voted ahead of Iowa would be obvious bs.

The point is... who do you "punish" more?
Team A who lost at home to a 2 loss unranked team OR Team B who lost to an undefeated Top 25 team on the road?

This is why rankings are nothing more than a popularity contest. No team in the Top 25 has a loss to an unranked opponent. Texas will be the only one, and be ranked ahead of teams who are undefeated or teams with one loss who have only lost to Top 25 teams... just saying!

Especially when you look at what UCLA has done so far this year. They got beat by a bad Kansas State team. Then Stanford...although Stanford's good, UCLA got absolutely KILLED by them 35-0.

That same UCLA team in turn blew out Texas. They shouldn't be in the top 25 but will cause of their name.

They at least gotta drop to 20 after that showing. But yea I have seen weird things like that.

Tradition, history, rep will keep texas rated ahead of Iowa.....The media guys who do their homework know that Iowa is better, unfortunately the majority do not, hence Texas will have a higher rating.

The polls will certainly be interesting tomorrow due to Texas and Arkansas losing.

Both of them remaining ahead of us should be expected at this point.

Even if they are who really cares? We play 4 currently ranked teams in a row. Texas plays one. Iowa would jump ahead of them if they win all 4.

And Arkansas probably should finish ahead of us. They lost to Alabama and we lost to Arizona. Alabama is better and they played better against them then we played against Arizona.

I wouldn't bet on that! If Texas is rated higher than Iowa on Monday and doesn't lose over the next four weeks... I would bet Iowa does not pass them up. Why on earth would you think voters would have Iowa pass Texas based upon who they were beating??? Texas could beat the Kool Aid Man and move up in the polls.

Actually, after looking at Texas' schedule they would have beaten Nebraska and Oklahoma. If they do that we probably shouldn't jump them. That being said I don't think Texas will win either. They are the worst of the three (anyone who gets blown out at home to UCLA just isn't that good.)

Will see, but I highly, highly doubt Texas is higher.

Something some of you are also overlooking is that Coaches around the country would love a reason to knock Texas down a peg or 2. Now they have the reason. UCLA was 1-2 coming into Austin and 16 point dogs. Texas takes a beating this week in the polls.

I'll be ok if Arkansas is ranked slightly ahead of us. They played #1 Alabama tough today.

NO WAY Texas should be ranked ahead of us. If they are, it is because of Name only. But like other posters have stated, OK will take care of things shortly...

I just want to see if there is any consistency in the polls and see if Texas drops at least 9 spots.

I'll hold my breath and turn as blue as BSU Field. That means, 'no.'
