Texas: What a a bunch of greedy, arrogant creeps

So... Texas is greedy... Okay I get. The first conference to setup their own TV network that was only about money... isn't greedy. Ok. Thanks.

The Big Ten has full revenue sharing. Thus, no teams suffer at the expense of another team.

The Big 12 does not, and it will be the end of the conference. Maybe not this year after all, but eventually.

We're not getting a nickel from Texas. In fact, unlike the Big Ten, the schools in the Big 12 DON'T share revenue. So if anyone's being subsidized, its Iowa. And the word from the meetings is that very steep penalties are being put in place to ensure conference stability...so if someone leaves, it will be at great cost to themselves and great profit to the remaining conference teams.

I wouldn't say that Iowa is a team that is being subsidized by the rest of the B10. There are other schools that are probably in that category. But it doesn't matter. The point being that the B10 understands that sharing the wealth and putting everyone in a good financial position is the only good way to create stability within a conference.

That being said, I hope ISU all the best in the future. I really hope, for them, that the new B12 doesn't go belly up in the near future because of Texas' greed.

As a Husker fan, i'm very glad to have gotten out of the Big 12 when Nebraska did. If people thought Texas ran the show now, with this new TV deal, it's only to get worse.

I've posted a few times on the old Scout board when Jon ran it as WestDesMoines Husker, just wanted to say that i'm every exicted about Nebraska joining the nation's best conference and i'm very much looking forward to playing Iowa every year.

When it comes to football, the Big 10 is all about tradition, history, and great fan support and cann't wait for NU to play the likes of Iowa, Michigan, Ohio St, etc.

The team that is arguably most hurt by the way this played out is Colorado. Everyone that remained in the Big 12 will make lots more money. Nebraska will make lots more money. The Pac 10 may have been relying on getting to 16 (and getting Texas) for a lucrative TV deal, and now that's way up in the air.

But at least they, like Nebraska, end up in a conference that has stability. The Pac-10 isn't going anywhere (although, if they still dare to go to 16, that might be another story).

Not really, Colorado has long dreamed of being in the Pac 10. In all aspects from academics toathletic venues to athletic competition to political viewpoints, Colorado is a much better fit for the Pac 10
