I didn't see any of the LB's in the replays...why didn't Doege keep the ball (instead of handing it off)? That DE was crashing hard.

I have no problem going for it there. It's 4th and 1 or so, converting is very likely (obviously they didn't. Your reward is a first down with a shot at a TD very likely. Your punishment for not converting is giving the ball away to Oklahoma with bad field positioning, a 3 and out or a turnover (like what happened) gives your team the ball in good field positioning again with less time on the clock.
You take three points you are still up 3 td's (before it's still a three score game) with a possibility of Oklahoma getting a TD return or good field positioning.
