Tents banned in Kinnick Lot 43

In a related note, the opening of lift gates on SUVs will also be prohibited. As will sunscreen and smiling.
 
Loud boisterous behavior and ballyhoo of any kind will be considered bad form. Those engaging or insighting others to do the same will be escorted from the stadium and subject to prosecution and perhaps persecution in social media.

No more fun of any kind!

Serious question: If you had inherited a rather large sum of money but loathed Barta/Mason and these types of rules, what would you do? Would you still donate a chunk to the athletic fund and get over it? Or do you tell them to stick it?
I've got along just fine at home with my big screen and group of friends and family, since 2010, when I refused to go back until these idiots were gone.

I have thought about that...being a Phil Knight type booster would be so fun...university comes to pick up their annual check, "nah, sorry...I don't like that coach you have..." or "Your new policies suck...I'm not writing the check until they are gone..." I bet they would change their tune if millions were on the line.

The only thing that will stop this is for the football players and coaches threaten to not play a game.

Tailgating at the Super Bowl was limited to inside of vehicles and yet it was still a sellout and people paid thousands for tickets. I think the administration knows what they are doing.
 
According to the Press Citizen, if you rent a suite, you'll still be allowed to put up a tent. If not, you're out of luck.

I like tailgating as much as the next person, but why is tailgating/no tailgating really that big of a deal for football? No one tailgates in the parking lots before wrestling meets or basketball games yet the crowds within Carver are very engaged and loud (at least this year in BB).

For away games are people actually getting together in groups at 6:00am to drink before kickoff? Again I love the festivities around Kinnick pre-game, but whether or not I can tailgate and whether or not I can have a tent isn't going to keep me from attending the games.

No one tailgates for basketball or rasslin' because it is too cold outside to tailgate. But people tailgate at MLB games - Sox games and Brewers games have lots of tailgaters. Wrigley has none because there is no parking, but everyone gets trashed at the bars adjacent to the stadium. NASCAR fans also tailgate. Tailgating is a huge tradition in the midwest and south and those who try to stomp it out are a big threat to the American way of life.

Welp, that settles it. I'm going to refrain from donating tens of thousands of dollars to the University.

These policies need to loosen up before I'll even contemplate it.
