Team reviews for NCAAs - Oklahoma St.

Here's the review of Oklahoma State. Though the tournament is in their home state, I doubt that gives them any advantage - it's not like it's their home arena with 90% of the crowd cheering for them - same goes for Oklahoma.

125 - Klimara is a decent wrestler but hasn't beaten anyone highly ranked. He's ranked 15th and might win a match or two at NCAA, but that's all.

133 - Morrison has lost only once this year, to Ramos 8-2, but hasn't wrestled many of the top guys. He was 5th last year and is one of the top guys this year but I don't see him challenging for finals unless he gets on a hot streak.

141 - Collica is a true freshman with a decent record (25-7) but no wins against top guys. Doubt he'll contribute much on team points.

149 - Kindig is a decent wrestler, ranked 8th, with close wins over Maple and Grothus early in the season, but has since lost to them both. He'll score well for his team, but may place low AA (5th-8th).

157 - Dieringer is ranked 1st and has lost only once this year, to St. John 2-1. Last year he lost twice to St. John, including OT in NCAA semis, and took 3rd as a freshman. This weight will be a battle between Dieringer, St. John, Green, and maybe Ness.

165 - Caldwell is the only guy who wrestles Taylor fairly well (lost to him last week 5-2). He'll be battling Moore, Sulzer and Monk for the "privilege" of losing to Taylor in the finals (Moore beat him in OT in the Iowa dual).

174 - I don't like Perry's style much, but it's gotten him a lot of success - seems to always beat the top guys, but only by 1 point. Won NCAAs last year, but Howe is standing in his way this year (lost to him 4-2 early this year). Those two should be in the finals, with Howe winning.

184 - Boyd is RS freshman who has no wins against top opponents, so doubt he'll contribute to team score.

197 - Rosholt has had injury problems, and was only 10-7 anyway, so guys like Crutchmer and Bortz have been filling in. Doubt that either will contribute to team points.

285 - Marsden has 6 losses this year, but 3 were to average opponents. He's ranked 18th and doubt he'll win more than one match at nationals.

125 - Klimara, NP
133 - Morrison, 4th
141 - Collica, NP
149 - Kindig, 6th
157 - Dieringer, 2nd
165 - Caldwell, 2nd
174 - Perry, 2nd
184 - Boyd, NP
197 - Crutchmer/Bortz, NP
285 - Marsden, NP

Not enough depth to challenge for team title, despite possibly having 3 finalists. For the future, Caldwell and Perry are seniors and I don't see many future stars on their roster, so Smith needs to get some big recruits in.

Look how far the porkies have fallen, I think this is how we may look next year without our big seniors. They do have Marstellar coming in next year...
