Official "paid attendance" was listed at 48,199. Looking across from the visitor side there were lots of empty seats on the Gopher side of the field. The prime seats between the 25 yd lines were 30-40% empty. I'd estimate 30,000-35,000 actually showed up. We were on the visitor side, upper deck 30 yard line We had ample room to spread out...two seats each, an empty row in front. Pretty weak sauce for a Gopher homecoming weekend. (and, no...it wasn't that cold)

Never underestimate the great fan support we have at Kinnick.

How much were the tickets? I heard some Iowa fans say they were going to do but they were too expensive.

Huge difference in overall support between the two fan bases. There were some articles over the summer on the subject of actual attendance at games. You would think this would not be a good look to prospective recruits. And not healthy to the bottom line either.

Well, if I had to listen to PJ Fleck every week...I'd stay home too. My god, did you hear his press conference? "We have crops out there and some are growing faster than others. We have some that are this high (makes gestures) some that are this high (another gesture) and some that haven't grown at all...but the field is looking better overall." Someone needs to treat that dude for ring worm at this point.

He then went to the boat rowing metaphors for the remainder of his press conference. Holy crap...it was painful...kind of like watching a train wreck and not being able to turn away. Fascinating.

Fleck loves to hear himself talk. Somebody in the press conference should stand up and say "ALRIGHT...enough already we get it"

My little bro lives in the area and said the goofs has priced both Iowa and Minnesota fans out of going. Doesn’t take much for gophers fans to stay home and start tailgating for the Vikings.

This was the only decent gopher home game this year, and it was Iowa and it was homecoming...so they jacked the ticket prices way up. Too far

Maybe they were counting pizzas sold...

Agree. My perspective too was 25% empty sheet. Plus, very few people there on time....a lot of folks piling on in during and after the 1st quarter.

$125 each for me...upper level (213)....row six. Prices never did come down.

On a positive note, parking in the State Fairgrounds for $10 to include a free shuttle to and from the game is a very good thing. They knew how to move crowds.

In the articles that Rob does about recruits almost all of them are impressed with the fans and the electricity. That means something for them and it just might help with the recruiting process. Hawk fans keep it up!

I bought my ticket through the U of I months ago, as I do for all away games. The ticket was $80. Parents of players all around me, including the Fant family and the Espenesa family. Heard lots of discussion about the premium seating on the press box side being so empty. Hard to figure. State Fairgrounds shuttle is the way to go. Busses are given a free pass to a special route with no traffic. 10 minute ride. Nice tailgate area. Sometimes the wait in line for busses to get back to the Fairgrounds can be a bit lengthy, but because the crowd left very early on Saturday, it was only around 10 minutes. TCB Stadium is kick ass. Not a bad seat anywhere, close to the playing field, good restroom/concession access, ample leg room, wider seats like Iowa's endzone seating has. Banner keeps you completely up to date on all game stats, plus other scores around the country. But, the same sob in the red jacket and hat still kills the flow of the game.

So the obvious question is whether you heard the Fant family complaining about Noah's involvement in the game...

Nope. Not a word. BTW, Nate S.'s parents were right there, as well. Cannot believe how stressful these games are for the parents. But, what a thrill!
