I noticed during the punt block play and also on the immediate replay that Iowa's punt formation looked weird/different. It took me watching the replay a second time to see the hawks, who usually iirc have 3 blockers behind the LOS and snapper and in front of Taylor, only have two blockers right in front of Taylor.
The missing third blocker/protector was lined up in the slot so that the hawks had 3 gunners. Were the hawks trying to catch jNW napping and not lining up on the slot receiver so that Taylor might pass the ball?? Just wondering why the different alignment.
Doesn't Iowa usually have 3 blockers just in front of the punter and only two wide LOS gunners?
