I just tuned in to support my alma mater and the Hawkeyes are down by 22 points with 11 minutes left in the first half.

I get there down nights, but I stayed up two nights ago until 11:30 to see them fall to USC. Once again, an opposing player had a career night in three-point shots. Go figure.

I want to and will support this team, but continuing to support Fran McCaffrey as head coach of Iowa is no longer an option in my view. Luka Garza and the Murray twins are enough evidence to show to me that Fran doesn’t have a clue what to do when he has a talented roster. I am tired as a fan of being the Charlie Brown to Lucy‘s football hold.

If Iowa manages to sneak into the NCAA tournament, we all know what the outcome will be, and it won’t be pretty.

Please find a way to get a new coach (good or bad) so I can have any kind of hope, even if it is false hope.

Now the Hawks are down 47 to 20. Go Hawkeyes, I guess…
 
116 for WI and a 31 point loss,
99 for USC
57 - 24 at the half for the Bruins, who were 2 and 4 in the conference coming in.
Iowa was #315 in the NCAA in D. Frannie's got them headed even higher!
Beyond embarrassing.

Right now, I don't believe we have a clue how the rest of the season will unfold?

Also, right now, I'd support Fran stepping down, his or Beth's choice, and naming Sherm Dillard interim to see if the season can be rescued. Take the time to figure out the next step.

The buyout is steep and I don't see BG firing him mid-season. It was an awful performance following another poor one in the previous game. It's not news to say the defense is among the worst of the Fran McCaffrey era.

But even with all that, I wouldn't jump to any conclusions yet. Right after a tough loss is not the time to evaluate the future. For whatever reason, our defense seems to be 10 times worse on the road than at home. We need to start bucking up and playing some D so we can salvage what is left of the schedule. There are some tough home games left too so I don't see us winning out at CHA.

I'm not advocating for FM but I think we need to see the season play out. And as HuckFinn said above, this was very concerning.
