He said Northwestern stole the signals from the sideline. "A lot of film study,... smart school"
Why cant he admit they lost because he CANT THROW THE BALL!

See, I knew Nebraska being the only team in the conference not in the Assn. of American Univ. would come back to haunt them. It's just surprising they'd highlight this as a reason they lost the game.

Come on it's not that NU is such a smart school. It's because Braska has to keep it so simple a caveman could do it.

I didn't take it as an accusation, more of a they figured out our play calling. He could have changed the plays at the line if he saw this. I think it is sour grapes, not exactly saying they cheated.

I agree. Even his O coach said he didnt think thats what happened. Still fun to poke at them thou.:)

Where did he state that they were "cheating"? Even if Northwestern figured out what they were doing that's not cheating. That to me would be outwitting your opponent. By the way TM threw for 300 and some yds in that game so they didn't lose because he can't throw the ball.............even though I agree that he is not a good passer but it's not the reason they lost.

Agreed. Martinez never said "cheating". He said they were able to figure out what plays they were running by watching the signals.

Its all part of the game. There is a reason that teams use signals rather than just yelling plays. Apparently NW was smart enough to figure them out.

Don't take this the wrong way, but your statement is just as dumb as is his accusation.

He was 28 of 37 or 75% for 289 yards with 2 TD's and 0 INT's.

They lost because they only had 122 yards rushing against one of the worst run defenses in the country.

Northwestern has been able to do this to teams like Michigan (or Iowa?) over the years. Its as simple as telling a grad assistant to just stare at the sideline or look at the players for "tells" like its a poker game. You can't ask a guy to turn his eyes off, this has been going on forever.

You know, when I was in HS, we were getting throttled by a good team, and they were cocky enough to TELL us where they were going when things got ugly late in the game. We still couldn't stop them. Maybe NW was just better that day?

They got beat.... by a bunch of damn NERDS!!!!

"you just got your ***** whipped, by a bunch of goddamn nerds! Now, if I were you, I'd do something about it!!"

Whatever he is only at quarterback because he can run. He throws a terrible ball!

Maybe, but that day he completed 75% of his passes for almost 300 yards. Hardly the reason they lost.

You can't argue those numbers and your making yourself look silly in trying.

He got the job done throwing the ball so it really doesn't matter how the delivery was, the ball got to his receivers.
