I guess no one is sticking around to play for Drakes new coach. Man that has to suck. Is this a Midwest thing? Indiana, Drake, and Iowa.

Has anyone ever heard of a situation where so many players from one team transferred to another team???

Banks is another kid out of Kansas City. KC has always produced good BB players and BM evidently knows it well and has recruited it hard.

I guess it also speaks well of how the players feel about their coach. Loyalty between a coach and his players in this dog eat dog world of college basketball will be vital for a team to develop continuity.

Interesting that Fran didn’t Pennseal in any of his players. I know, I know totally different division of basketball and money and every thing else. We also all know most players won’t be getting paid in the NBA after college.

That brings up another question in this free for all mess. What’s to stop kids from playing more than four years now in the new semi-pro college world. I’m mean what the heck, why end a good thing.

Also should kids that are getting paid to play be allowed athletic scholarships?

It's been at least twenty years since I can recall a player being declared academically ineligible and probably a lot longer than that.

You have to look at it the other way too. The players have to fit what the new coach wants. If you compare Fran's and Ben's style of play, they couldn't be more different.

I am not sure what Ben's style of play is. He himself stated in an interview that he had to fit this past season's offense around the players he had to throw together on such short notice. He also said that meant having to slow things down from the quicker offense he wants to develop. Hinting at that he likes to run up the score board. Maybe the only difference between his style and Fran's style is he expects his players to play defense also.

New coach Ben desperately needs to add a couple 3-pt sharpshooters. Pryce would have partially filled the bill, but that ship has sailed. It's been shocking to see the 3pt % of some of the Drake recruits. Egads...Banks' was 9%? Never even heard of a % that low! Also, some are not great FT shooters. Significant gaps to fill -- still plenty of guys in the portal. Go get 'em, Ben!

Yeah I saw that also. Let's hope that Banks game against Missouri is more of what's to come and not just a fluke.
