The kid should have been more dedicated to his school work.
Will that work?
Oh yeah, our morons got what they deserved.

This would have been better with a link to a corresponding article about Tate Forcier not playing due to grades...

And with Iowa's recent problems, "moron" stones shouldn't be cast from this side of the Big10 fence.

Maybe they are trying to prove to Harbaugh that they still do care about academics for athletes so that he accepts the job offer.

Do you think he wants the job, Mac? I'm having huge doubts...I'm thinking he'd want to join his brother as an NFL head coach instead of getting locked into another college job...even if it's his alma mater.

I mean really what does the NFL offer that Michigan cannot? Their facilities are just as good if not better than most NFL teams, he can name his price, and he can get the players he wants.

The only thing the NFL can offer over Michigan is a Super Bowl trophy and the stroke that comes with winning one...I'd go to the alma mater if I were him, but I don't know, we'll just have to see how he's wired as far as which one intrigues him more. There's definitely more job security on the college level...not as far as years at one school, but more schools willing to pay good money to a name coach, even if he gets the boot somewhere else.

I have posted this a few times, but Michigan should not consider Harbaugh, Stanford has been a stepping stone to the NFL and that is where I think he is headed. The Michigan fanbase has now shifted their attention to Urban Meyer and think they will keep Rodriguez and then fire him after next season, get Meyer and DRob will be the Heisman Trophy winner.
Their reasoning to get Meyer is they are hung on some quote he made while at BGSU saying that Michigan was his "dream job" and the offense wouldn't change.
Back Harbaugh, he is in the Pac-10 and the league has not been that good since he got there. He had Toby Gerhart in place and recruited Andrew Luck. He has taken advantage of the league being down that others haven't in that league. If Michigan gets him, what does he do with Denard Robinson? How does he change the program?
I believe that is why Michigan hired Rodriguez to begin with, to make over the program. His staff did something plain stupid that got him in trouble and the fans won't forgive him, unless he beats OSU. Going to a bowl isn't good enough for them right now.
For whatever reason, I don't see them firing Rodriguez, unless they get blown out in their bowl game. I think he will make some changes to his defensive staff and coach at least one more season. If they finish lower than third in their new division, then he is done.

I think Harbaugh can coach Forcier to take the reigns till they get another qb. I mean its Michigan not Iowa, if they want a pro style qb within one year they will have one.

I have an easier time seeing Michigan wanting to go back to the "Michigan Way" than I do seeing them wait out one more year before going to Meyer. I really never thought I would see the day in which Michigan consistenly played terrible defense. That's always the first thing that comes to mind when thinking of Michigan football, great defense and power running. They officially have neither. I don't see it staying that way. They'll go for Harbaugh, regardless of Saturday's outcome.

Biggest differences I see is in the NFL are the travel and the fact that you have 100% of your time to coach football. IN college you have 20% coaching football, and 80% coaching life. I could definitely see how someone would want the NFL over college if they didn't want to have to deal with all of the other things that college brings (as we learned in the last month) and the tireless recruiting and traveling.

I used to think it was a "no brainer" in Harbaugh to Michigan, but I'm pretty sure his next job will be competing with big bro in the NFL......which really sucks for Michigan, as I'm not sure they'll make a big splash with anyone else.

There is a 0% chance Harbaugh coaches Michigan. Bookmark that.

My feeling is a package deal with Harbaugh and Andy Luck in Carolina next year.

Don't forget about the impending lock-out in the NFL. This could seriously sway some otherwise simple decisions. Look at Pryor and others at fOSU and the RB from Oregon who clearly is ready for the NFL. Do you really think that Pryor (and others) really give two ***** about playing in a meaningless bowl game just to keep their eligibility for next year? Come on. They are doing it because nobody knows what next year is going to bring in the NFL. The NCAA is part of this charade as well.

It would not surprise me to see Harbaugh take the Michigan job but leave within 3 yrs for the NFL.
