Talk Show Hosts - Are they trolls?

Have you considered an exciting career in VCR or typewriter repair? Where have you been? Radio is dead.

I know, used to work for Clear Channel writing their streaming radio/video services. Now I write banking software for much better pay that is easier to support.

Which station/show is that?

Dude, Travis Justice is an Iowa guy. Grew up in Western Iowa somewhere. Don't recall where.

But yeah, sports talk hosts are trolls, no doubt about it.

I believe he is a Grandview alum.

Murph & Andy is the only local sports show in Des Moines I will listed to, it was better with Hassel.

Also, KXNO has at least 2 Iowa State radio shows and Miller does his show live from Cy's Locker room weekly, that will get me to change the dial fast!

He grew up in Minden, IA - know him and his family. He may be an Iowa guy, I actually used to tailgate with his family a lot in Iowa City years ago, but he has worked a large portion of his career in and around the Nebraska and Creighton programs. I was just stating that he doesn't even do the show from Des Moines, not that it even matters, but he's got a lotta RED blood in him over the years and likes to troll IA and Nebbie fans alike.

I'd agree with this. I'm never used to be the biggest fan of his, but he normally seems to be a pretty fair guy.

I like Ken Miller. He talks about Iowa and Iowa State plenty, and you get a small dose of professional sports. It's not great all the time, but it's better than any other sports radio show in Des Moines. I really don't like the morning show. I think Ross is letting Travis ruin him. There are so many sports related topics to discuss this time of year, yet anytime I turn on the car in the morning (it's left on 1460 from listening to Miller in the afternoon) they are talking about something ridiculously stupid. I really can't believe this is the best we can do in Des Moines sports talk radio.

Agree 100%. The morning show is by far the most disappointing. Always prefer to listen to talk radio on drive into work but flipping on the morning KXNO guys one is likely to hear conversations about different beers, favorite movie scenes, etc. ... Each time I hope for something different and after about listening for 1 minute I quickly tune into my Sirius sports channels ... You can tell the morning guys constantly doubt themselves on the air ... On more than one occasion I have heard them defend the format of their show ... And when an elderly lady called in to tell them how much she enjoyed their format ... well, that told me all I needed to know ... When "Grandma" calls in to say she likes your "sports/variety" show one should take a serious look at who you are connecting with. KXNO is a "sports station" but you would never know it by listening to the morning guys. When there are sports stories ripe for picking they are usually talking about the first bike they ever owned. On the flip side, their bosses don't seem to mind ... so I guess all the power to them ... But don't place a variety show on an all-sports channel ... :)
