Clearly this season has to be luck. Ive read it here so many times, that we have little to no talent, and our coaches suck, so theres that...
It was never a toss up during the game, cause we pounded them. They were undefeated, we were not. Minnesota was giving 2.5 pts. They won @jNW, Nebraska, @Indiana and Penn St. after losing to us. Like it or not, they will end up being 8-4 and a decent team. We went into Minny and won 23-7 rolled up 464 yds of O, and held them to 165. Wisconsin beat Minny 20-7, had 324 yds O, and held Minny to 185 yds of offense.
Minnesota is a decent team, just because you or I didn't expect them to be any good, doesn't mean they haven't had a pretty good year.
Not to take anything away from the efforts and results of this team because they have done a good job in getting things turned around this year. Also keep in mind, however, that we have been living on razor's edge with late game fumbles that rolled in our favor with NW and MI. Without those turnovers we could be singing a little bit different song. I understand that good defenses can cause fumbles but you still need some luck to have the ball bounce your way.
The Hawks have had a good year considering where they have been as of late. Let's hope they can put an explanation point on it next Friday and keep the momentum going.
Iowa even if they win on Friday will have beaten 0 quality teams. The success this year is due to a ridiculously easy schedule due to a terrible Big 10. That being said, I hope they continue to take advantage of it.
Go look at the record of teams Iowa has beaten. They haven't beaten 1 good team all year. They lost to NIU, OSU, and Wiscy which are the only good teams on the schedule. Its not that difficult for most people to figure out. Fortunately I've seen a few of your posts so I understand why it is difficult for you to fathom. Math is hard.
Coming off the 4-8, playing a very tough schedule, beating the teams they should beat, the development of the defense into a very serious squad, and some significant improvement in the offense without the luxury of some great skill players, all adds up to a pretty exciting year. It would be hard to argue that the players and coaches did not do a very fine job in 2013.
