Take another name off the board for Iowa...

They seem to be going straight to a conviction without even a trial. To bad the facts of the case cannot come out before everyone judges this kid.

Either way after what happened with Pierre Pierce you do not want to go anywhere near this kid now.
 
I guess I'm not good with legalese, but is he perhaps being charged with statutory rape? The alleged victim is 17. Not that it really makes much difference legally.

Doesn't a parent/guardian usually get someone nailed for that? Would be a crappy thing for a 17 year old girl to have sex with a 18 year old and then turn him in for statutory rape.

Reading the article again, that seems unlikely, since this happened on Marshall's campus.

Quick browse of the West Virginia laws shows 16 as the age of consent so in this case it can not be statutory rape situation as the alleged victim is 17.
 
Also I don't believe it would be statutory rape unless the man was something like 25 and the girl was 17. When the ages are close they don't consider it statutory rape. But I am not a lawyer either.

Either way, this would be an instance where keeping it in his pants would have been the smart thing to do.
 
Sounds like the charges are gonna be dropped but as was said no way does Iowa pursue Lee now.
