#23. Now there's a no brainer. A toss up between Paul Kujawa and Plez Atkins...
Just kidding. Greene's 2008 season may have been the best single individual season of the Fry/Ferentz era. Right up there with Chuck Long 1985.
Leroy Smith's name came up in another thread. He had a great season in one game-5 sacks against tOSU. So yes his 1991 was phenomenal. Roby, absolutely. King, maybe not as much but don't underestimate the effect of a corner who shuts his side of the field down.Leroy Smith 1991 would have to be up there, as well as Desmond King in 2015. Reggie Roby in 1981, as well.

You do want to be careful about murkying the waters when it comes to one great individual season, however. Otherwise you will soon get to examples like Robert Gallery and Nate Kaeding, 2003 then before you know it you are throwing in Deven Harberts 1988, Dave Moritz 1983, or Keith Chappelle, 1980. Hell, Quinn Early in 1987 and Mo Brown in 2002 put up huge numbers by Iowa wide receiver standards.
Kings pick-six against Maryland was one of my favorite plays in 2015. I was watching in our rec room when my oldest son and his girlfriend (now wife) walked in. King stepped into the passing lane and started heading upfield. I told my kid "See ya" he said no he's going to get caught from behind. He could have run to North Liberty and not got caught.King had HUGE INTs against Pitt and Wisconsin, a pick-6 against Maryland, and a big punt return against Iowa State, not to mention a game-clinching in the same game. I'd say it was big
