Time for a consistent D coordinator. I love Norm Parker and what he has accomplished, but the bend dont break SH!t is so 5 years ago

I logged on so I could be cheered up with somemore "bend but don't break" statistics and how well it works... you give em 8 yards on every first down pass it don't take long to drive the entire field...

No doubt Norm is a great defensive mind but the bend don't break only works with the best personnel. If you are soft in the secondary and at linebacker you are going to get owned. Not to mention that in the second half the front four were getting no push.

Defense has been a hug disappointment this year. If teams don't shoot themselves we lose. Statistically it has worked for us but its not a real fun way to play. We have the talent on defense... they need to be unleashed

Last week I said Iowa has a good defense, but not a great one. Some people disagreed citing things like, Iowa is #3 against the run, #8 overall. My point was that Iowa gives up too many 1st downs, lacks pressure on the QB and Iowa is 50+ against the pass.

Indiana, Wisconsin, Northwestern, and Arizona all walked the length of the field on Iowa in the fourth quarter. The run defense stat is often overrated in college football.

Iowa has a good defense not a great one.
