Swag

This one is for the players. While I understand the generational gap, I would like you to understand I know what you all call swag. Now let me tell you what it means to me and my generation. It is short for swagger. You have 12 fights scheduled for this fall (for sure). Boxers train for months for just one fight, so you know what needs to be done and the time allowed. I hope you put in the work and I hope you EARN the right to have some swagger this fall. ON IOWA!

I read three sentences into the post before looking at the author and was thinking I bet this is old dudes work. What do I get for winning?

This one time I took a walk to the store and the next day at work I was just sitting there. Ive always had people ask me if I like chicken but I never really thought it was a big deal that I could not smell colors. For me its the simple fact that I could go to the food court and fill up on samples. Its not a big deal that monkeys dont make good friends. Every single monday I always eat lunch because I know that one day I dont want to look back and say why did I not bannnas. If I was a duck Id fly upside down. On Iowa.

Dancing on the sidelines to Ni**as in Paris, that's swag. Iowa was 1-0 when that happened beating a preseason top 10 on the road. We were 3-8 when it didn't happen, if we would have just played that song on a loop during our home games we would have ran the table at Kinnick.

I've asked before and never had a good answer but . . . where did "winner, winner, chicken dinner" come from?

Legend is it came from Vegas where every casino had a cheap chicken dinner on the menu. Basically any win got you a chicken dinner. It was a low stakes, low brow casino deal. That is the first place I heard it used longer ago than I care to admit, so I buy the legend. Wish I could say, "so and so first shouted it at the Nugget, but just can't get that precise.

What I can say is it came back into fashion recently through televised poker and simulated casino video games.

I made it up in high school. I worked at a chicken place. When the internet came along it became more popular. long story made short.

If I gave you an FST, you would not pass.

Gag on the swag. We ain't Miami nor do I want to be. I tell you who had swag... Those city boyz clowns (if that was there name) that were here for one semester. The clowns i see on the east side, they gots plenty of swag. Forget the swag and play foozeball. Shame on you old dude you area making us look bad. There should never be swag associated with Iowa football. Dumb
