Surprising...? OWH picking Iowa to win the West

Interesting article, but I gotta agree with the OP. This quote left me o_O. " Iowa has only a marginally better quarterback than Minnesota and Nebraska"

Love the comments. Fusker fans are still reaching back to the 60's to validate their program.

Most of that was from one guy who started out his argument with "Nebraska has had 3 losing seasons since 1961, lol Iowa has had 23 in that same time."

In his favor Nebraska does have four consecutive decades as an elite team, 60's, 70's. 80's, 90's. Iowa by contrast was a doormat over much of the 60's & 70's, totaling 16 "losing seasons" over that stretch. The other notable losing stretch for Iowa was the three season losing streak covering Fry's last year and Ferentz's first two. Outside of that there were two losing seasons under Fry 1989 & 1992 and two losing seasons under Ferentz 2006 & 2012.

Since Nebraska 2001 rose bowl year, the two teams have been comparable. Nebraska and Iowa have the exact same win total of 116 games over that period. Iowa has had higher peaks in 2002, 2003, 2004, 2009, 2015. Nebraska has had more 8 & 9 win seasons, six compared to Iowa's three. Nebraska has had three losing seasons over that span to Iowa's two.

Since 2001 how have the teams in the Big Ten & (former) Big Twelve done.
