Sunday six

Sunday hasn't made it any better. I have 6 observations from what I could stand to watch last night.

1. CJ isn't what he was last year. No mobility, no leadership. His body language and lack of motivation scream that he's not wanting to play.

2. Lack of any leadership from anyone. King, CJ, kittle are some I thought would provide strong senior leadership but it appears only Wadley and Josey care from watching the games. It appeared coach k had more fire than the players. Even the tv folks called that out. No good

3. Akrum Wadley is our only consistent playmaker and he's not touching the ball enough. Honestly we had two weeks to prepare for this game and the best we could was a couple end arounds for this guy. We need new coaches. Our recruiting efforts in season seem to be weak and our game planning seems to be completely broken.

4. Our outside backers and safeties are way too slow and are making terrible reads. We got burned for big plays drive after drive. Again, we had two weeks to prepare. Unacceptable preparation and execution. Both coaches and players should be held accountable.

5. We gave up. Barkley called it out after the game and he was right. We should've rolled every back up out there until we found 11 players with some fight. It appears Kirk and staff have lost the team completely.

6. It's too hard to watch this crap. Many hawk fans spend a good chunk of their income to buy tickets, come to games and support this team. Last year was great but the drop off is completely the worst of many puzzling seasons under this administration. It's clear to me that the team has given up and the coaches have too. Completely giveN up. It's unbearable to watch and support anymore. It was embarrassing last night.

Pile on Hawkeye nation. I'm sure many of you feel the same.

I'm gonna go puke

Have a good day. Hopefully wrestling is good this year.

I'm not really sure things are quite as bad as they seem (give me a chance here).

I thought Iowa's defense would be solid at the beginning of the year, I was wrong. The D-line played poorly early on, but has now been corrected (I thought they would be good all year). I thought the CB's would be able to cover up the lack of experience at the safeties and that whoever ended up at the LEO would not be terrible ( I thought Bo Bower would have learned from a few years ago and developed or Mends would beat him out). The safeties are improving, but well, most of use expect more from the defense.

The O-line is half walk-ons, still I thought they would be better. Still, I think the future of the O-line looks good. The receiving core needs to be fixed. I really can't tell for certain how much of it is scheme and how much of it is talent or even just lack of motivation by the players (maybe someone else knows about it).

We are really not that far from being in good shape. The NDSU game Iowa had two of their interior linemen out and Wadley was far from healthy, they still probably should have won if not for mysterious holding calls.

The NW game was bad luck, yes they should have schemed better, but before the game NW had been able to do nothing on offense. They were able to click, and there were certainly worse defenses that they could have clicked on prior to the Iowa game.

The Wisconsin game Iowa didn't have Vandeberg or Kittle. If Iowa had them, I do believe Iowa probably would have won.

Penn State is a bad scheme for Iowa to go against and their O-line coach was the O coordinator at Minnesota, when they put 35+ points on Iowa the previous 2 years. Without a passing game Iowa isn't going to be able to do much on offense as most teams will stack the box.

It's possible if not for injuries that Iowa could have just one or two losses.

As for me I'm not going to give up hope or watching, if for no other reason than to support the players that put on the jersey and show recruits that we'll, or I, will be there.

I've run out of patience. Our team last night had no fight or fire. It was terrible to watch.

I expect to win at least 2 more games.

I'm not sure what to say when Ferentz is the cheerleader on the sidelines. We don't see that too often.
