Sullinger Declares for Draft

This was a foregone conclusion. Without labor issues last year at this time he would have left then. They should be thrilled they got two years out of him.

OSU is still stacked next year if Thomas returns. It is a matter of whether they can play together or not. Matta did next year's team not favors by playing such a small rotation. They will be the best defensive team in the Big 10.

Having his performance against Kansas fresh in the minds of scouts is not going to help his draft stock. But there's not much he can do about his size or height, he's proven all he can at the college level.

Sully is projected at #7 on DraftExpress right now. I think he will prove to be worth that pick. Great hands, soft touch, can step out and expand his range, and will rebound. Not Kevin Love, but not DeJuan Blair either.

As for OSU...they will have a solid core,if Thomas returns. Thomas,Craft,Smith,Williams,Thompson,Ravenol,Scott,Ross are all top 125.

He promised Matta two years, why do people discard that by thinking he was going to be a one and done player if there was no labor dispute.

There are people left today that actually keep their word, it is few and far between anymore, but it does happen.

Stacked? I don't know about that, yes they will still have a load of talent. HS rankings don't mean they are proven either. We all know the reputation of those players.
What OSU loses in Sullinger leaving is that presence, who can fill that presence? When OSU has not had a proven post scorer they have not played well.
Amir Willimas could be a guy that shoulders the burden, but he is still pretty raw offensively. He will be a major upgrade defensively compared to what they have.
Matta can recruit and there still are a few good big men out there, so he has some opportunities to just go get another one.
Now the question for OSU is: Will Thomas stay? Has he said one way or the other yet?

Thomas hasn't decided yet. If he leaves, OSU is in trouble, and won't be able to compete with IU, MSU, and Michigan next year.

Scratch Michigan if Burke does leave, which looks likely...very rare do those stories break and they aren't true.

I still like Michigan, even if Burke leaves. Mitch McGary will be their Cody Zeller. The guy is a remarkable player.

Sully was always a 2 and out guy. Losing Thomas would be a real blow, and I'd be surprised if he stayed
