Student Section Last Night

Was it a little louder last night? Seemed like it was better than usual, which is encouraging. Tickets were 5 bucks and they were giving out free pizza. Maybe that lured a few more in. Anyone else think it seemed better?
 
Man, giving out basically free tickets and free pizza and still struggling to get people to games..

It was a lot smaller than the opener. I have a feeling a lot of the midweek non-conference games will have the stands looking about like it did last night. If they keep winning, the mid-week Big Ten games won't be looking anything like that.
 
Yeah, the quality of the stream I watched for the opener wasn't great. I was distracted by the poor picture I was viewing. Didn't notice student section.
 
Student section not as good as the opener.

Also, the whole "sucks" thing after announcing the opponent's starting lineup is tired and stupid.

But honestly, I've tried to convince people we should do something else, but it's hard to convince other students

I can understand, but c'mon, you're college students. You're smart and witty. Invent something that's actually funny or entertaining.

Agreed. At least during football, students have the "I'm wasted" excuse. They don't have to be witty.

When I was in high school the whole student section would be pretending to read a newspaper while the opposing team's lineup was introduced. Once our team was announced everybody would throw their newspapers and get crazy. It was pretty neat.

Maybe they could chant that they have spirit and then following such chant by asking the other team's student section if they also have spirit.

Other teams have opposing student sections show up to their arenas too right?
