Spank do you think Stubbs will earn playing time in the future? Other than mop up situations. I was just going looking at his profile. He had a decorated high school career. Numbers remind me of Skinner, with comparable school size I guess.
 
Why would anyone want to compare someone to Skinner. Great high school shooter but it stopped there...not one of Iowa's brightest lights.
 
NewMex, seriously??? I was not comparing what they will do in college. Skinner was a scholarship point guard and a pretty darn good player. Stubbs is a walkon. Stubbs could have gotten scholarships somewhere. He wants to be a hawk. It only makes the program stronger to have a walk on the caliber of player he is. I was only comparing statistics of each player in high school because they came from similar sized schools.
 
Why the hate for Skinner? He came here, played hard and was a good Hawkeye. Not everyone can be a star stud.
 
plus Skinner was Iowa's Mr. Basketball, some speculated that was the reason why Mr. Davis offered, myself and others felt he would have been the perfect fit in Eldon Millers offense at UNI
 
To earn playing time Stubbs needs to REALLY work on playing defense. At this point I believe his defense is a huge liability.
 
Skinner was not a good fit for Dr Davis' system and as a result looked to more of a liability than was probably fair to him. Troy would have been a much better fit in a lot of other systems and perhaps even a great situational guy for Iowa at the time. As good a guy or true of a Hawk as he may have been, he was out of his element in his time here. That's not a knock on him as a player any more than saying Andre Woolridge wouldn't have flourished in Lickliter's system.
 
i did hear that stubbs was suppose to go on scholarship to VCU but chose to try and play at iowa and look at VCU Final 4 if this is true i wonder how he feels! lol thats what i heard in his high school years that he was received a full ride from VCU! i have no idea if there is any truth to that but this kid is a great shooter!

You sure love throwing rumors and I'm not sure information into basketball discussions eh?

i am not sure what you meant by this, so i dont mean to be picky...but while branden is a good shooter, his shot is fundamentally poor. he would struggle to get it off in the big ten. it starts way to low.

He has a clean release and is a good shooter from the outside.
