Strongly disagree with Dean

Agreed... When they said he was in a boot I wondered why they didn't have him in a boot immediately after the injury. He may have been ready by now.

My guess would be that LD said he was fine, getting better, etc. Medical staff, coaches, etc., finally saw enough to say, "You are NOT getting better. Boot time!"

Because of Daniels size, I like him as our up the gut runner to get 3-4 yrds. I like Jordan as our off tackles /swing pass running back.

This. Jordan's strength is not as a north-south runner. His speed and size make him a better fit for outside the tackle type of runs. To be successful over the whole season, our offense needs that one cut running back who can pound the ball.

Canzeri is doing a nice job right now. Durability throughout a full season has historically been questionable for him.

But........

who is this Dean fellow?

Last thing Kirk, since I know you read all my threads, could Plewa and Cox get a few more touches . . . same for Hillyer. TIA. You're the best.

Did you happen to see Michigan's FB trap against NW in a short-yardage situation? Thing of beauty, went for big yards. I think Cox especially would be effective (Plewa was a TE and LB in high school, whereas Cox ran for 1800 yards his senior year).

I've always like Canzeri more than Daniels. When the original depth chart came out I questioned it.

Look Daniels can provide value if he's healthy. The ideal formula is never to run a guy 40 plus times... even if he's having a great performance.

Canzeri has proved he is our best back and deserves to be the #1 and get the bulk of the carries. With that said, when Daniels is healthy I have no problem with him getting 10 touches and Canzeri getting 20.

When LD is healthy, hopefully after the bye week, he and JC will both get 10-20 carries, depending on who's effective. JC was magnificent last week, but 30+ carries is not sustainable.

I agree a few FB hitters would be nice, as well as a couple wr jet sweeps and a handfull of carries for DMX and/or Wadley.

Davis can be conservative, and still be creative to keep things fresh.

It's going to be interesting. Defense needs to be very sound and special teams needs to be very good.

Find a way.

This would make sense if you knew he was better than Canzeri. PLAY YOUR BEST PLAYERS! If this was single platoon football you'd have a stronger argument.

Kirk, when you bring in Mitchell for a handful of plays, split Canzeri to wide-out. We need our studs on the field as much as possible.

What exactly do you think I was saying because this response makes no sense.

I was stating that you don't want to wear out your best back that's why almost every team in this day and age uses two running backs.
