Story: Why a 6th Year Made Sense for Jordan Bohannon

I don’t think it matters if JT struggles at the point. JBo is needed at the 2 and will start at the 2. I have little doubt he’s being brought back to be a high volume shooter.

I think/hope JT will do very well. But if he struggles it will be Connor or Ulis starting at the 1 not JBo.

I’m very high on Patrick like many others. Is he limited on PT? I know they have to watch every detail closely with him. Can he play more than 20 minutes a game?

My "fear" is that, 1:
The starting line-up I [and many others] want won't be the one on the floor
2. If one of our young guns transfers now, we will be sacrificing 4 years of young and good talent, for 1 year of JBo. Everyone believes he will continue to be a great 3 point shooter. What if he shoots 25% this year?

Don't dismiss the chance at a JBo 7th year with an injury in the first 10 games and a hardship waiver. He will be the Van Wilder of Iowa. Kind of already is surpassing Settles.

This team can be an NCAA tourney team I think with a JW return. Probably a 7 to 11 seed.....to a bubble team making the NIT.

Again, if JBo can keep his mouth shut, his hands off twitter, and be used effectively, this is not a bad thing.

Close game late it would hard for Fran not to put the ball in JBo’s hands. 88% career free throw shooter makes him option A at least at the beginning of the year in that type of scenario.

What if? What if none of the unknowns are any good? We could play this hypothetical game all day. JBo has far more data to support him being what we expect. And players are a lot less likely to leave if he’s going to be gone next year than if we recruit over someone with a 3 year transfer.

I'm sure JBO won't bring it up in the interview, but you have to assume that Fran brought up the significance of setting the 3's record would have, and building his name as a larger than life 6th year man for his endeavors into coaching or broadcasting with the B10 network. Creating a brand and monetizing should be the most important thing and a 6th year will do that in spades with what he will have accomplished. Playing in Europe will net him less value/$$ in the long run IMHO.

What if Keegan regresses next season? He could. Hell, let's cut him to be safe.....
