STORY: Florida Prep Taajhir McCall Looking Forward to Iowa Official

I like his film. Sure, tight tackler with good form. Plays hard, never gives up on a play. Doesn't let the QB out of the pocket, which probably keeps his sack numbers down. Really can't see why he's only a 2-star on Rivals and unranked on 247 (other than the fact that I'm certainly not an expert).

He is ranked low because he missed last season and has remained off the radar. Another example of a recruit we are getting that is actually much better than his ranking. I like everything I see from him and he will get great coaching at Iowa to maximize his potential. McCall's ceiling is quite high!

I liked the film as well. Hard to tell what the competition is like, but it's Florida so it has to be decent even though many of the top players in that state come from the Miami/Fort Lauderdale area and Tampa area.

I also like that he has interest from Army and Navy. While obviously not football powerhouses these days, the fact that the kid can apparently qualify for academy schools means he is a good student and has his head on straight. Type of kid that will get to class and the weight room and develop into a leader. Hope we get him.

The term "winner" comes to mind

They play some pretty good ball in the Panhandle, as well. Emmitt Smith says "Hi-ya" :)

I cannot imagine what it is like to major in Engineering and play football with the commitment that both entail.
