Story: Coaches on Recruiting Trail, Watching TN RB

So what I get from this story is that Ferentz is going to make sure that we keep A.J. locked up. That's good. Davis is going to watch Mansell and probably see if he can make that most critical 2 yard out pass on a 3rd and long. And finally Phil Parker is going to Detroit to check on hotel reservations for the much anticipated Motor City bowl that we are eagerly awaiting. Did I miss anything here?
I know this is the horse thats already dead but continues to get beaten but why in the name of all things holy cant someone go try to repair the relationship with Eno on this magical mystery tour of the coaches?

Certainly one of the benefits of an early signing period for Iowa is you would not have to spend so much time playing defense protecting those that have given verbals. Important for a program like Iowa who can more easily be raided by the more elite programs during hunting season.

I agree with the thought of trying to repair things with Eno but don't see that happening.

Not having an early signing period is set up for the Urbans, Harbaughs and Sabans of college football. They love it because they're at the top of the food chain and can pry almost anyone away they want from another school. The NCAA wants teams like OSU, Michigan, and Alabama to win a lot of games because it helps keep interest and make money for them.

So, instead of an early signing period which would level the playing field in college football, we have this favorism going on.

The powers- Alabama, Michigan, Ohio State are not in favor of the early signing period. It allows them to pick off recruits as they deem fit form the Iowa's of the world. The real concern that must be addressed by early signing is there a process to protect the recruit if/when coaching staffs get fired or hired away. Supposedly this is being worked on and we will have an early signing period next year or 18 at the at the latest. as it passed the committee this last summer.

I wrote on this too. To quote Trump, "the system is rigged"

We play defense so much because our staff feels its much easier than being proactive. We defend because we struggle with being more aggressive/assertive, its who we are on and off the field.
