Whining, crying & howling about the other team keeping the starters in to long is for losers!

Where was your post criticizing Lickliter for not playing Neari or Tucker against Northwestern? Just a few days ago, “the potential coach of the yearâ€￾ did the same thing that Painter did today.

Both coaches had various reasons for not playing reserves late in the game. But, please, stop being a little baby when Coach Lickliter does the same thing in a convincing victory.

Whimper and moaning like your post is for losers! It is only stupid if the opposing coach does the same thing.

Or just not.

I don't know, I kind of like it and he (or she) does have a point. Sure we have a short bench but our bench doesn't exactly stop at the top 7 players. We had a commanding lead against NW and won by 13 and yet Neari didn't get in the game and Lil Lick & Cougill only played 4 minutes while Brommer only played 6. Sure sounds like a valid point to me. Gatens, Fuller, Payne, May and Cole were all on the court to end that game.

Oddly enough I probably could have guessed that you would like it. That's fine. I guess I just wish all this childish baiting and bickering would end and the boards would get back to conversations.

Heck we could even have conversations about whether or not Lick plays reserves in blow outs like he should without silly pile on crap. JMHO.

Stormin wasn't complaining about Painter leaving the starters in to run up the score.

Stormin did say he thought it was stupid for Painter to leave the starters in with the chance of unnecessary injury. Giving an opinion doesn't mean a guy is necessarily whining and crying.

So if you disagree with him, then at least disagree with what he said rather than rag on a straw man you set up.

In Stormin's defense... Purdue has a hell of a lot more to play for than Iowa does. Every minute that our big guns play together is more time that they have to gel. Purdue is a finely tuned team, and a key injury in the season they are having could completely shoot them in the foot. Ask Tom Izzo how it feels to play without Kaylon Lucas for a few games. Imagine if Lucas had gotten hurt later in the year when they were up huge...the MSU fans would have Izzo under the bus.... Purdue fans would have done the same for Painter.

It is two completely different situations, and the O.P. is pretty much a moron for not taking that into consideration. Stormin voiced a very good point, but if you are going to fire back at him for making a point. Maybe, just maybe you should analyze the two situations and realize how different they are.

I cant believe anyone cares about this - its such a non issue

If u read Stormin's post and have an IQ greater than that of a monkey, you should have realized that he wasn't talking about running up the score. He was talking about all that Purdue has to play for (Big Ten Title, NCAA seeding) and when the game was over their key players were still on the floor. And seriously, you think with a team this young we can trust our players to keep a lead against NW or anyone for that matter? If I'm not mistaken we had a huge lead and NW was able to cut it back to 8 or 9 pts midway in the second half. Not like a veteran Purdue team leading a youthful Iowa team by around 15 to 20 throughout.

Like I said in the other thread, if Painter pulls his starters we have a chance to make a small run and close the final gap. And then we improve to 5-0 in moral victories on the season.

Yep....love those moral victories. As I said previously, if you can't compete, that is Iowa's problem not the opponents. Get better players and coaches and you'll have nothing to ***** about. Looks like a better AD is also required in Iowa's case.

Undefeated in moral victories!? LOL. I was going to agree with you but is the 5pt win over Tennessee St considered a moral victory or an amoral victory?

1.) I did criticize Coach Lickliter for not playing Tucker on numerous occasions. CLICK HERE to read one of them.

2.) Iowa is not in the position to pull starters. They have a propensity to lose leads in the second half. And an injury to an Iowa player wouldn't do much to hurt their post season play.

3.) I thought it was a stupid move because why would Painter risk injuring key players when his team is up 22 at home against late in the game? Even if the risk is very low, why play with fire with a potential 1 or 2 seed available? Losing JuJuan Johnson would severely hurt Purdue, their seeding, and their chances for a deep tourney run.

4.) I only howl at the moon.

That's funny Bus, because in his post, I was amused by his incorrect use of the word "your" than his misspelling of the D word.

And for your info, to turn the D word into an adjective, you use the -ey suffix. However, if you are using it as an adverb or a superlative, you replace the ey with an i, such as douchily, or douchiest.
