Stoops and his passion are exactly what we need on defense. He might be an excellent defensive coordinator for Iowa. Norm needs to retire - his health is failing

I'm not sure I could watch Mike Stoops on the sideline for a whole year whether it's as a head coach or a D-Coordinator. If they make it mandatory that he stays in the booth maybe. I'm not sure the bullying coach plays well with kids today.

I am not a big fan of even bringing him in as a d-coordinator. Haven't his defenses been absolutely torched in the Pac 10? Which is a very pass happy conference. I don't think this would bode well for the Hawks at all.
Not to mention, the guy is nothing short of a psycho on the sidelines. Not sure he would fit with Kirk's MO.

The Stoops brothers are smart men. They went to IOWA didn't they? Mark was the D.C. at Zona and left for FSU. Mike failed at Arizona but that alone does not make him a bad coach. His offense was good his defense was off the charts bad. His demeanor needs a lot of work. I, also think he maybe a good fit at defensive cord.

I like this too. Guy has a fire inside him about football, but sometimes I can't stand when he just screams until he is red in the face. That would need to change.

If you want a Stoops as DC, you want Mark. Their defense was actually pretty solid when Mark was running things, and it's been downhill since he left, and now it's hit rock bottom in just their second season without him.
