I think you are wrong here. If BF is the next coach you'll see a new approach to handling a football coach. Not a drastic change necessarily but some change. He will have to produce. But ANY Iowa coach who runs a clean program, makes the university money, casts a positive light on the university and wins around 8 games a year will be forever welcomed by the University and its fans. If BF fails at any of those, he wont be around 20 yrs. KF has succeeded by all accounts and purposes at the U of Iowa. He has earned the right to coach with some clought. Fry was trending down. When/if KF does the same thing...2-3 yrs down in a row at this point in his career, he will be retired. I dont see it happening as i think he is trending up if anything with the staff, recruiting and status of the cupboard.Whoever the AD is has to be accepting of the fact that he’s a cuckhold to the football coach. Bob Stoops would never, ever be ok with taking orders from Brian Ferentz.
Aside from that, Stoops retired because he said he’s sick of the rat race and he doesn’t want to end up like his dad who “went from the sideline to the grave” and didn’t get to enjoy his grandchildren and retirement. He’s already a bazillionaire who somehow slid out after the Joe Mixon scandal without a scratch. Why would he want to take a shit job being the whipping boy at Iowa when he can literally do whatever he wants, whenever he wants everyday for the rest of his life?
