HN recruiting analyst Rob Howe takes a look at where the Hawkeyes stand with several of their top targets in his Stock Report:

If Iowa were to get Waggoner, Brents, DJ Johnson, and Levis, that would be amazing! Waggoner has a ton of offers including OSU, DJ is down to ND and Iowa, and Levis has a Florida St. offer.

Thomas was being recruited as a hybrid WR-TE. He talked with is about it when he was offered: LINK

Hybrid??? As the number 86th rated receiver in the country? Maybe, after all look at all those top ten power five teams pursuing him. "Ok Thomas four yard down and out pattern." "Ok Thomas six yard curl out pattern"

My prayer to God this day is that our new offensive coordinator not only brings a new wrinkle to the offense but a whole new facelift. PLEASE don't be a chip off of the old block.

I'm not picking on you Rob. It makes no sense to shoot the messenger. It is what it is.

I would expect a new wrinkle or two. A face-lift though? Not happening with Kirk.

Brian as the OC learned under Belicheck at New England. O'Keefe his QB coach liked to throw seam routes to the TE and very few of the flat passes Davis liked. I expect with O'Keefe's pro experience plus the above mentioned items I think this O will loosen up the D with the passing game much more and new wrinkles than we have seen in the last 5 years. I also expect we will run the jet sweep and fake jet sweep multiple times some games with good results due to better talent and better blocking schemes that Brian brought in.

I'm going long on the Hawkeyes. I like where things are heading. That is, as of today.

I see where one of the Top 247 recruiting analysts (Andrew Ellis) changed his prediction for Waggoner on 9 July from Notre Dame to Iowa. Perhaps he read your 5 July update. ;)
