Vandenberg: 2100 yards, 22 TDs, 8 picks.
Coker: 1360 yards, 14 TDs.
McNutt: 970 yards, 10 TDs.
KD: 450 yards, 5 TDs.
Herman: 230 yards, 2 TDs.
CJF: 200 yards, 3 TDs.

I'm not gonna try to predict defensive stats; too hard to try to guess.

Pretty good guesses IMO. I think McNutt at 970 is pretty high for yards. When was the last time Iowa had a WR over 900 yards in a season? McNutt was close last year wasn't he?

Mo Brown had 966 in 2002 and that was with CJ Jones and Dallas Clark along with Freddy Russell and Jermelle Lewis at RB. Now our offense will almost certainly not be that good but it has plenty of potential. Right now we have a bonafide #1 WR and a couple of guys who who should certainly be among the tops at their positions with Herman and Coker. But after McNutt it's Davis and then no experience. I'd say McNutt has a good chance at 900 or more receiving yards and around 10 tds. He will almost certainly break Iowa's TD receptions record as he needs only 5 to tie and 6 to break it.

I based my McNutt figure more on JVB than anything else. For a new QB, it's easy to lock onto a receiver and throw the vast majority of your passes their way. We saw that in the scrimmage, as JVB went to KD over and over. I assume KD was playing in the #2 spot, but he was still targeted a ton. I figure MM will get the vast majority of balls thrown his way, and with his hands I figure he hauls most of them in.

It's too hard to try to predict how specific players will do. I'm more interested in who everyone thinks the "breakout player" will be. There always seems to be one every year. Last year it probably would've been Coker had he not been injured. Otherwise I'd give it to Hyde for the two TD's.

'09 I think it was McNutt. Maybe Robinson or Wegher as a close second.

'08 was obviously Greene.

My memory is too foggy before that.

I also don't like to invest too much in players we think will have big years. All too often they get injured or have less than stellar performances, i.e. Clayborn last year (although I'm not a football expert and like to think he was still doing his job and weak defense in other areas made him look worse).

Hampton in '09.

Moeaki in '08.

I think that Vandenberg will put up some yards ... but I also think that he'll throw a good number of picks too. That's one of the bad points of throwing darts ... they are more likely to get tipped by the WRs ... and then there's the question as to whether the D can get to the ball in time.

- I predict that we'll be going bowling ... so I think that in 13 games, Vandenberg will probably manage to put up numbers in the ball park of 2500 yards.

- First year starters at QB often lean on their "safety" guys ... and, to that end, Vandenberg's most reliable targets will likely be McNutt and his TEs. Thus, to that end, I'd probably predict around 1000 yards for McNutt, 350 yards for Herman, and around 200-250 yards for Fiedorowicz. Heck, I also bet that Derby potentially gets in the ball park of nearly 100 yards receiving too.

- If Coker can stay healthy ... then I anticipate that Vandenberg's precision passing, the quality of our OL, and the quality of our running game will lead us to see marked improvements on O when the weather turns cold. Thus, instead of mediocre performances on O in November like we saw in '10 ... I think that we'll continue to see a pretty productive and balanced O. The result of this is that I think that we'll get in the ball-park of 2400 yards rushing (potentially more). Of those yards, if Coker can remain healthy, I think that he could end up getting around 1300-1400 of those yards.

I really think we will have the most potent passing game in years. With the WR's and the TE's and the running game we will have I think we will be in the scoring average of somewhere around 37-40 pts a game. Davis needs to bring it and then possible Staggs or Cotten need to suprise. If Coker and Johnson and Rogers click, look out. We may be un-defensable.

Vandy-2800 Yards 19 TD's 7 picks
Coker-1450 Yards 12 TD's
McNutt-1100 Yards 13 TD's
Davis-600 Yards 8 TD's
Herman-500 Yards 6 TD's
Staggs/Cotten/Kmart-700 yards 6-TD's
Special Teams-6 TD's

Morris/Nielson-220 Tackles 3 TD's

Secondary-12 picks 5 TD's

The Iowa City police will bag atleast 120 people for open container on the first opening game. Police numbers will average 3 per half block around the stadium. Atleast one person will be arrested for trying to ninja kick an officer and he will brutally tased and maced while being beaten by five police. Just a few stats. haha.

Not to complain, because I hope you do end up getting this one right, but your math is a little off. Tough for the receivers and tight ends to get 33 TD's when Vandy only throws for 19 :D

I see a lot of 2008 next year, I see a lot of the Insight bowl next year. Which means Coker right, Coker left, Coker up the middle. JVB will attempt 20-25 passes a game.

JVB: 2300 yds. 16 TDs 8 Ints: KOK/KF will be ultra conservative this year look for JVB to have a big year next year.

Coker: 1600 yds 12 TDs.
Coker's back-up 400 yds.
Mcnutt: 900 yds. 5 TDs.
Davis: 600 yds. 3 TDs.
Herman: 400 yds. 2 TDs.

CJ, Staggs,K-mart, etc. will get the rest of the yardage/TDs.

Morris: 120 tackles Daniels: 12 TFL Binns: 8 sacks

Puke.....Nebby wins the division.
