Stat to Follow for Cubs Fans

I am not a Cardinals fan - please apologize

Twins fan here but also a Cubs follower. As a Twins fan i know exactly how terrible Carlos Silva is. If you want to defend him thats fine but just know that he blows and its just a matter of time before you find that out.

Silva was darn solid for the Twins. His struggles began when he signed with Seattle.

Lee is killing us worse than ARam is. Lee hits into a DP every opportunity to knock in a key run. ARam is starting to put good wood on the ball, even when he gets out. I hope like hell we don't re-sign Lee after this year. Signing free agent to be Adrian Gonzalez would give us a 1B in his prime, and solves the left handed bat in the middle of the lineup that we've been looking for for years. Last year Lee had a great year, but had 3 sub-par years prior to that. He's on the decline, and there will be a ton of good free agent 1B on the market this offseason.

While I agree with the idea of not resigning Lee, to say he's been a bigger problem than ARam is ridiculous. Lee has an OBP that's almost respectable and it's 100 points higher than ARam's. ARam is on pace to have his highest K total of his career, and considering he's K'd 100 times in a season once, that's pretty significant. Lee's OPS is .150 higher than ARam. Relatively speaking, Lee is having a MUCH better year. ARam has been a black hole. Hell, Chad Freaking Tracy has been much better than ARam. That should put into perspective how bad ARam has been, because Tracy sucks something fierce.

Lee has GIDP 6 times this year, 5 of those with only a man on first, so how has he GIDP every opportunity to drive in an important run? And of his 3 previous years(06,07 and 08), 2 were right at league average (above average OBP's) and the third was the 2nd best year of his career. And one of those average years was the year he broke his wrist.

I do agree with signing one of the billion FA 1B on the market this year not named DLee, but to say he's the biggest problem is uninformed garbage.

Silva was bordering on horrid his last 2 years in Minnesota, then he got there with Seattle. His first 2 years in Minny weren't too bad, the last 2 were pretty darned bad.

I think we can all agree that ARam and DLee are not playing at the level they should be. They both look fat and happy.

I agree, but Lee hasn't been at the same level of suck that ARam has been. Neither should be hitting in the middle of the order right now, but ARam has been outperformed by everyone on the team, and should be given some extra time off. Not benched completely, just not in the lineup every day. And when he is in the lineup, he needs to be in the 7 or 8 hole, not cleanup.

Lee just needs to be moved down until he's back to normal.

As I said, I don't want them to re-sign Lee, and I'd be thrilled if ARam opted out.

Check your facts. His last two years with the Twins were not good at all. He happened to be playing on good teams so he got some wins but he was in now way "solid"

Also, if you consider what he did with Seattle only "struggles" you are way too kind. He has been the worst pitcher in baseball for the last two seasons.

Switching to the weaker NL helps but not this much. He is smoke and mirrors and its just a matter of time
