I think when you look at it, we all have careers, and we dedicate one hell of a percentage of our lives to them. I for one after 8 years of the Marines left it for family reasons and had my fill of combat. I would of been retired 16 years ago if I would of pursued it. I ended up climbing ladders in heavy equipment manufacturing and then to the service side. Finally dealing with customers and public wore me out. I resigned all of it after my back surgery. I took a clock in and out no responsibility position for a high school friend to just be a regular guy again. Unfortunately my experience has led to that being promoted to a wearhouse manager in the shipping and receiving dept. I can tell you my motivation and heart isn't in it. For KF to have dedicated this much time and life to Iowa football is commendable period! With that said with what he's made from his contracts just retire, go enjoy whatever is left of life and health! Like fry said, not much life expectantly left. Finding the new coach will be the key, even parker is to old to take the reigns for to long. I don't have the answers but Kirk looks more wore out and fragile in these last couple years I've ever seen. I've loved and ridiculed him a lot myself. I don't know if Lester would be the guy or not but I do think he has tried to the best of what he has and the parameters he's been given. This is a interesting time for the program. HF and KF has kept Iowa relevant since I was 8 yrs old. This new era with the money is really making teams more competitive and I think you can see national champions having 2 losses on their resume going forward for sure.
