Stanzi still #3 qb after trade

I think some of our Hawkeye friends would rather downgrade him now and be right until proven wrong than get their hopes up for something and being disappointed...I don't get that, but it is what it is, I guess.

Look at Mark Vlasic as an example of a player who worked hard and got his chance with the Chiefs. He was going to be there starter after finishing #1 the year before and then a bad knee injury made him trent green before trent green was around.

Vlasic as everyone knows only started one year for the hawks and filled in well his junior year. He had a big arm but little experience. A few years in the pros and the light bulb went on. A bad injury really messed up his chances.

Stanzi might take the same route. Get some good QB coaching, work on his touch. He can make the hash throws and has generally good accuracy so maybe he gets a chance some day.

As a Chiefs fan I am disappointed. Brady Quinn is terrible. I hope they give Stanzi a chance before sticking someone with a career 50% completion percentage in the game.

Agreed. He was a good college quarterback at Iowa, but didn't strike me as NFL-caliber without additional strength, training and speeding up his delivery. That last one is very hard to develop this late in a QB's career.

Heck yeah, I dont mind the Chiefs if they play Stanzi I would certainly be more interested. I bet he gets some serious play in pre season, I notice though, Stanzi is at his best late in games and if he plays early he might not be at his best. Either way I dont think any of us can say anything until after then, and what if KC take a QB in the draft late......I know Pioli is high on Stanzi and him having a true shot so I bet he plays and I hope he plays well. I dont rank Stanzi as my favorite Iowa QB and Stanzi has lead to some heart attack like events but he came out on top a lot and won some huge games, I think he should be awarded a legit shot and this KC line up of QBs makes me think he will, but Ive been wrong before. I dont think Cassel is horrible by any means and when hes healthy he is pretty good, but he doesnt stay healthy and you can almost bet they will have to go to the bench at some point.

This made me chuckle a little bit, he couldn't even beat out a guy in Denver who completed less than 50% of his passes. Quinn is terrible, interception machine, glad the Chiefs have him, but he does have a smokn hot sister, though she's married to one ugly dude, why do chicks dig guys with long hair?
