He has to be the most inconsistent QB I have ever seen. I don’t remember the last time our QB looked that bad at the end of the game. And what the heck happened to the D it’s like they were just standing around looking at each other like they didn’t have a clue. I have never made comments after a lost, but I just can’t help it. It’s like the whole team just stopped playing. This is one of the worst losses I have ever seen. I guess now all we can do is hope they learn from this and figure some things out or its going to be a very bad season.

Play calling was not the best. No answer for the overwhelming rush. No roll out, no screens, nothing

Play calling: Sucked. Oline: Gassed QB: Indecisive and rattled, showed his true colors with his inability to thrown the damn ball away, could not make key throws. Picked for 6.

For sure. You threw one quick slant for a pick 6 on a fluke play on the second drive and you didn't throw it again. KOK got scared after that because the slant was open all night, especially on the last drive.
But in the long run, we missed at least 2 TD passes on drives that ended in no points. Watching the first time I couldn't tell if it was Stanzi or the wide outs that missed those. I will watch and find out, but that was an easy 14 points, they did not score on either drive.

Agreed. I thought the playcalling was horrendous as well. I think we panicked after After the first Quarter. Felt that we gave up on the run way too early. It always takes us a while to get that established.

We let them pin their ears back on pass rush the whole game. Like you said above no screens or roll outs aside from a few naked boots.

It means this person drank 1.75 liters of Hawkeye vodka with a kool aid mixer and thinks getting online to unleash his anger is a good idea,

So you think his performance at the end of the game was good glad to see the at least someone thinks so. Actually I was thinking I should just go to bed and post when I have had some sleep. I work midnights and I stayed up for the past 48 hours just so I could see this game so yah I’m a little disappointed.

Stanzi put that ball right on McNutt. That isn't Stanzi's pick 6, it's McNutt's. He has to catch that ball.

Football is a team game the last time i checked. We made way too many mistakes to blame just the QB on this one.

This goes to show before we get idiots in Hawkeye Nation boasting about a national championship run they should check the schedule and realize this was going to be a tough game to win.

The pick 6 was hardly the QB as the ball went through the hands of the receiver. Does anyone realize we gave away 21 points tonight? Fortunately we got 7 back. Also throw in the near TD to DJK that appeared to go through his hands on the drive following the Arizona KR touchdown. How about in a tie ball game to let Arizona drive the field and score on the best d-line in the country? We had our chances. Much blame to go around.

The other disappointing aspect was the play of the offensive line. Our inability to run the football was also huge and our total collaspe against the blitz the last 4 plays was telling.

The good news is we can get better.

inconsistency at quarterback has done pretty damn well for us the past couple dozen games or so....we got down quite a bit way too early and our running game was evidently left in IC. Its tough to be too impressive when the defense can just pin back their ears with no regard for a running attack anyone hear what happened to Hampton?

This loss is NOT on Stanzi or KOK. It is on the fluke pick 6 (which was balanced out) and the craptacular ST play.

There is a lot of blame to go around, no question. I would have to say, the better football team did not win tonight. I know this will be debated, but c'mon, pick 6, KOR for TD, and a block punt for a TO inside the 10?
Iowa was stonger on both sides of the ball, not including special teams, and that makes me feel good about the rest of the year. All though we might have lot some more special teamers tonight.

Nothing new there...you live with Mr Pick 6 and you die with him. He really is nothing special as a QB at all, he has just been on some good teams and that is what makes his record as a starting QB look so good....it is not what he does.

Wow, I am amazed that he was able to have the game he had. Everyone watching knew that he was going to throw on almost every play. yet was still able to put some good drives together and get us what should have been the lead back(missed pat).

The pick 6 went off his receivers hands.

He did make some mistakes especially in taking sacks that he could have avoided(throwing the ball away) but was a long way away from having a bad game.

I think he may have put too much on his shoulders, resulting in taking unessessary sacks, but overall he had a pretty good game all things condsidered.
