Stanley's going to have a rough night, so I will give him one appreciation thread

You can give me the completion percentage stats, total TD records, TD/int ratio blah blah blah.

1-12 is the stat you need to know.

In my mind I’ll remember him for padding his stats vs crap teams and craping his pants in big games.

Thanks for the Ohio state game tho.
Yeah, but not tonight, man. He wasn't the reason we lost. One incomplete pass the entire second half is not why we lost. We couldn't defend the run is why we lost. Not Nate Stanley.

You should feel bad for making such a stupid statement. PSU, Michigan and Wisconsin beat us by a combined 14 points but Minny is going to beat us, at home, by 20+? Yea, that's not happening. I'm actually confident we will beat them. They will be coming off a major high and primed for a letdown game.

I'm not going to argue this point. However, Iowa has dominated this series for 40 years. Last year Iowa didn't have their A or B game and still beat them badly in Minnesota. I guarantee PJ has had this game circled for a long time.

Yeah, I think you're going to be surprised with how many "loyal Iowa season ticket holders" are eyeing StubHub and finding better things to do with their time next Saturday.
Hard to resist busting up the season of the team that chants "Iowa sucks" at all their events. I will go for that alone.

You realize a game is 4 quarters right? We had a whopping 6 points on the board for almost 3 full quarters. Stanley is a large reason why our offense is so incompetent every single game.

If he could have developed Stanzi or CJ’s toughness and fortitude and combined it with his physical ability and size, we make the CFP.
I still remember CJ's touchdown at Indiana when he did a pretty good Randall Cunningham impersonation diving over the pylon. Those were the type of efforts of a player who refused to lose.

All Nate had to do on that two point conversion was reach the ball over the plane. Find a freaking way. Maybe Wiscy wins it with a last second FG but we've at least tied the game.

I didn't used to but it's hard to argue against, but I think scheming, personal groups, and down/distance/situation plays hurts our qbs.

This year, the interior oline play was the worst I can remember, literally free rushers every game(vs psu an mich multiple times). Although they actually looked mostly solid today.

Then you look at the last 20 minutes and think...ok...we have the ability and just dont do it until 2 scores down.....that's coaching.

That center exchange fumble...its always something... goddamnit.
"It's Always Something"

That has been the epitaph of the Iowa-Wisconsin series ever since the Shonn Greene days.

Im not a Bears fan but I think that could be a good NFL landing spot for Beathard. He could start in the league on toughness alone.

The problem is, while Nagy seems to have a good offensive mind, he has suddenly channeled his inner Ferentz and Trubisky his inner Nate. Bears are mirroring the Hawks this year, finding a way to lose close games because they've become TOO risk adverse and have gotten TOO content to settle for field goals in the red zone.

I'm not going to give up on Trubisky yet. Drew Bledsoe had a similar season in 1995 and killed a lot of fantasy teams. Ne was also in ther super bowl one year later. But trading draft picks away to move up one spot when the Niners clearly weren't going QB and Watson and Mahomes would have been available by trading DOWN is starting to look pretty stupid. It has gotten so bad in Chicago that some have pined for Andy Dalton, just benched by a winless team, or ever Colin Kapernick, who has been basically blackballed from the league.

Perhaps Stanley ends up the Bears and carries Trubisky's clipboard. Then everything can come full circle.
