Stanley

This is such a tired narrative. If Iowa had a competent running game and could consistently protect him, Stanley would show out.

In this game, Illinois loaded the box to stop the run and forcing Stanley and the receivers beat them man to man. High risk high reward. Right about 50% completion rate, but, around 17 yards per completion.

Stanley threw a few bad balls, yes, but what quarterback doesn't? I am glad we have him and will hate to see him graduate.

He didn't have a great game, but he threw for over 300 yards, and had some critical running plays that resulted in first downs and moved the chains. He's been a good QB for Iowa overall. Not amazing, but good.

Having a rushing offense that averages one point something yards per carry doesn't help a QB. Puts some pressure on the QB.

Get 2 more victories NS.

Great kid and Hawkeye. Team guy, always gave great effort.
He made huge throws to Tracy and ISM, had the critical bootleg to keep another drive alive.

Clearly he was protecting the fg in the red zone all year. Clearly he missed Fant and Hocks. I just wished he wouldn't put so much pressure on himself to be perfect, or Kirk on him to avoid the mistake. It produces ugly wins, but it can be tough to play like that as well.

Some of the best throws he made were on broken plays, on the run. Remember the long pass to TJ in last year's wisconsin game, or the TD to ISM at Minnesota, the one to Easley? at Indiana last year? Sometimes you have to empty your head and just cut it loose.
