Stanley NFL Draft highlight reel

Well, I saw a mock on CBSsportsline.com that didn't even have Nate drafted in any of the seven rounds. Another "expert" there listed his top 250 prospects and didn't have Nate, meaning he thinks he won't be drafted. An expert on NBCsports.com didn't have Stanley among his top 10 QBs. A mock I saw today on SI.com had Nate going late in the 7th, almost in Mr. Irrelevant territory.

Nah, Nate's getting drafted.

I'm still sticking with rounds 4-6. It all depends on team needs and who gets drafted where. There are always some surprises on draft day for some teams that end up screwing up their original plan. IF he can get with a good organization with a good scheme that fits his skills I think he can be a productive player working into some playing time similar to a CJ Beatherd type role.

I think there is a shot he can surprise some people on here if he gets with the right coaches

...the one vs. PSU not bad, either
No doubt. That showed just how sick he is in the open field. The dude was able to run with his eyes and was just a joy to watch run with the ball in his hands

Nobody had CJB going in the 3rd round either. He jumped no less then 5 QBs and about 3 rounds higher then 'projected'. I think Nate is a better NFL prospect then he was too. CJ was drafted to be a backup I don't think their were taking him to groom him for the gig but to be a backup. (which is pretty high to be picking someone to do that but that's what I think they did)

My guess on Nate is a lot of GMs/coaches really do like him. But they are all holding their love for him close to the chest. They all don't want the others to know it and hope they can snag him in the 3rd round or so. He's not going to fall beyond the 4th round. There's no way he isn't taken either. No flipping way. I just hope he goes to a good fit. Tampa behind Brady would be fun. He's been compared to Big Ben in Pit for quite awhile that'd be a good fit too.

Why the talking heads don't like Nate is as head scratching to me as anything. He's smart (obviously) Played for BIG team. Durable didn't miss games. 3 yr starter in a pro style offense. Won 3 bowl games and lots of big games on a big stage. .Big strong arm. Can make every throw. Didn't throw a ton of interceptions. He made some bad plays now and then sure. But compared to that Love kid (seems to be the 'darling' of the draft with the media) who threw a boat load of interceptions he's way better. I'd take Nate in a heartbeat over him. Wouldn't even think twice about it.

I about fell off my chair when CJB's name was called in the 3rd round. Like CJ but that seemed early to me. Hope you're right about Nate but Love seems to have more upside than Nate.

Myself I think Love is overated. Played in weak conference and still threw a million interceptions. I'm just not a fan of guys that throw it to the other team that much. It's why I wasn't a Jamis Winston fan either. And what do you know he threw a ton of picks in the NFL too. Stanley is everything an NFL team should want. Big strong durable smart and above all coachable and teammates all love him. If you've listened to the Washed up Walkons pod cast you can get a feel for how the team all have his back. I won't be surprised that if he lands in the right spot that he goes on to be a starter in the NFL for awhile. He's plenty capable.

For a QB at the NFL level, it is about processing info and having the ability to do it quickly. Some will argue that Wonderlic scores are a good indicator of that, some will argue that it is not. Not to wimp out, but I get both sides.

The TE play or the lack thereof really hurt NS in 2019. Get typical Iowa TE play probably makes NS a 3rd round or so draft pick. Weiting could have stayed healthy and caught 20-25 passes I think it makes a big difference.
