standing question

How can Indiana already have clinched the regular season crown? If Michigan beats them today, they'll have identical conference records, and have split the head to head series. And both Michigan and Indiana would also have split with Ohio St. (the other tying team). Isn't that a tie?

How has Indiana clinched the title already?

I could be wrong but I believe it keeps going down the order of how you did against the next best team in the conference standings, that being MSU. Michigan split against them while Indiana swept them. So therefore, they get the crown.

That would make sense. Though it's interesting that losing to one of the lower ranked conference teams, instead of one of the top ones...gives you an advantage.

Why not just call them co-champs like they do in football.

True but when you look at it from the opposite point of view, that means Indiana beat more of the better teams.

I'm pulling for Michigan. I prefer playing them in the BTT...want another shot and their freshmen haven't played as well away from home. Also, I think they could easily have an Indiana hangover Friday and take us lightly due to their easy victory on their home court...where their freshmen do tend to play well.

They have not clinched the title; they have clinched the 1 tournament seed.

The BTN website standings say "x - conference champion -- regular season" , for Indiana.

Perhaps that indicates they have at least clinched a tie...for regular season champ.

I have thought about this. I just don't know - if we draw Michigan, that is what I hope for. If Michigan shows up motivated and playing at the top of it's game, I just don't think the Hawks can pull it out.. Gotta catch those guys on an off day IMO.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I just like our chances better against MSU. I'm basing that mostly just on how our head-to-head matchups have gone against each team.

But gotta be honest - Michigan's athleticism really worries me. Then again, PSU did beat them recently, so..
