Standford's impressive win last night offer more concern?

Something just doesn't add up....

I know we're going back to week 1 but Northwestern held the Stanford offense to 6 points. The same Stanford team put up 56 on a top 25 team. I didn't see any of the game so I really have no idea how they scored but it seems impressive to me that Standford's lone loss is to Northwestern.

How does this Northwestern beat a team that has been as impressive as Stanford who has wins over USC, Arizona and now UCLA, but gets absolutely pummeled by Michigan?

I am very concerned about NW defense - I have a feeling that this is going to be a very painful game for us, and could be a losing effort.

JNW caught Stanford at the most opportune time. Stanford had to come to the Midwest and they looked very slow maybe tired or they under estimated JNW very badly. I believe JNW absolutely lucked out! That Stanford team is outstanding! Michigan exposed JNW very badly! That catch from a Stanford player is absolutely FANTASTIC! If you haven't seen it you should check it out.

Nobody should be taking this game lightly because of what happened last week. Northwestern is a very good football team, this is going to be a tough test.

Ignore my name, but this is correct. Just like the B1G doesn't fare too well crossing 2 time zones and playing late, the PAC doesn't fare well crossing to time zones and playing at 9:00 AM their time

Did you go to Standford? Obviously, I did not.

The wild & mild cats play their home games at Ryan Field. It's a tough place for opposing teams to play. It's compact & loud seating only 40,000+ when full. It's almost always windy - Chicago area is known for that. The field is natural grass. Grass is difficult for teams that play only on turf to come in and be successful on. Grass makes teams look slow. The Cats can water bog the field and change the depth of the grass too. Someone stated the field has a high crown running down the middle that drops off by a foot to each sideline. Throw in the wind and passing teams often struggle there. Rain turns the place into a muddy slop hole. NW has a strong home field advantage. Pretty sure Stanford got the treatment.

All it means is that Iowa will jump over Stanford in the rankings if Iowa beats NW.

And that NW will jump over Stanford in the rankings if NW beat Iowa.

and that other than Utah, there are no good teams in the PAC this year

I've been thinking about this game all week. I believe to be successful we will have to pound the rock with timely successful play action to the tight ends and a few screens or cut back shovel passes. If we pound them I don't think they can stop us. Hope I'm right! Also, calling for a pint or kick off return for a to and a pick she this week... For us!...

If jNW played Stan-d-ford this weekend they would lose 48-3. A lot has changed since early September. Standy slept through that game.
