Really, This is what we have to show after Ohio State. WTF is wrong with us. No balls, No fight, No Pride. Just lay over and take the beating. SAD *ss basketball. Fran is pathetic and sucks and has NO clue how to motivate his players.
 
Hate to say it, but I'm headed in this direction, too. Hope Fran can do the job, but I don't see him making Iowa nationally relevant. Cm ' on Fran, let's get it going.
 
It's 1 game guys. Calm down. Lots of teams have had games like that this year. Wisconsin is a top 6 team for a reason and they showed it tonight.
 
Wisconsin is better than us, but I think we did throw in the towel before the half. Not seeing Dickerson for so long and then poof he is in there.......their was your sign. More fight would have been nice....maybe makes it a little closer...but we were not winning tonight with the way Wisco was hitting and executing.

We are not really ready yet for the Big Time against a good team playing good to great ball. We will be around .500 or a little better when it is all said and done. That is what we are.
 
25th ranked teams get beat down on the road all the time against top 10 teams. Sucks that it happened but it doesn't change that we are somewhere between the 2nd and 6th best team in the conference.

Agreed. We've only really struggled with top 10-15 teams(and UNI).

the collapse from last year still is fresh in Hawk fans minds, so I understand the frustration. A 30 point beating doesn't help.

I still think Fran is a good coach. Need to show we can bounce back next game.

We will see.

Shrug. All the losses count the same, regardless of spread. No one thought we were winning at Wisky this year. Win the next one and it doesn't matter.

Yep that's the thing. Wisconsin came with their A game today which means we had no chance to win. A single digit loss would have been better but in a week it won't matter anymore.
 
I thought we looked tired tonight personally. A lot of energy expended on Saturday and some of the previous games.

If we were going to stink it up, this was a good one to do it in as I am not sure we beat them up there anyway.

I don't know if we were tired or not but we definitely had a ton of trouble keeping the ball handler in front of us tonight.
 
Some could be on to something in this thread.....Iowa not so fresh for this game and just took somewhat of an off night to use that energy elsewhere. The key will be the difference in play and score when these teams face off in Iowa City. Better play their arsess off there though. Personally though, I think we got beat by a better team. But I would have liked to see a bit more fight....especially on the defensive end.....give up no 3s and make them earn it from the line even.
 
Thought the Taxslayer Bowl was over.... same feeling watching tonight.

Great thing about hoops is you can feel totally different in 10 days about your team and season

I thought we lacked a lot of energy tonight. I noticed the rebounding, loose balls and no motion in the offense. No one was anticipating, moving or diving on the floor. Little things like that.

Again not sure we could have beat them with our A game but lack of energy definitely contributed to the margin.
 
This team looked TIRED. Saturday was a huge, emotional game. We needed another day to rest.

We'll come back Saturday with more "pop"

Agree. The TV did not do Saturday's effort by both teams justice. OSU wanted that game bad and it took a tremendous effort to beat them. I remember leaving Carver wondering if we would have anything left for a quick turn around on Tuesday against a great team.

Playing Dickerson was Fran just realizing what a bust our four star pg continues to be.
 
Fran must go, he is in way over his head....just like Lick was, just different style than Lick, but Fran is terrible.

Just a horrible take. There were Big Ten teams who probably forgot Iowa was actually still in the conference when Lick was here. Fran has completely changed the culture of this team and the expectations of fans like you. Wiscy is just better. Hawks got humbled, no doubt, but at the end of the day they're 1000% more relevant under Fran than they were with the Lick.
