Does the name Spruceton Buddenhaggen sound like an O lineman?

Spruceton attended Iowa's JR day a couple weekends ago and now it appears he's since got offers from Nebraska and ISU.

He's from Osceola, Clarke HS, which isn't too far from where I grew up. I've never known Osceola to put out any big time athletes but it appears one is coming. Osceola is a fairly large town, in Iowa terms, and hasn't ever had much going in the way of athletics.

Osceola has an Amtrak stop, if I'm not mistaken. I haven't been to Osceola bince the '90's, but I am told that there is a casino there now. My mother spends an inordinately large amount of time there, as she prefers it to Prairie Meadows. I'm sure it is full of high rollers and well dressed, happy people. Good to see Osceola on the map for something other than the train track passing through!

With a name that long I'm not sure it fits on a jersey if you play anything but Oline or Dline.
 
Yes, that casino in Osceola stirs the drink so to speak. Yes, many from Des Moines hop on I35 and make the 45 mile drive but there are many in the surrounding communities going there as well. I'm from the Diagonal/Mt Ayr area, 40 or so miles to the SW and there are plenty, mainly older ladies, that go there almost every single day. What they do I'm not sure, play the slots?, bingo? eat the buffet?, drink heavily? I just don't know as most of them don't have very much money. But there are always a few people commuting to the casino working a job.

The town of Murray is about 10 miles to the west and while many small Iowa towns are shrinking Murray is actually growing and I know it's the casino that's driving it.

I do know that Osceola has some good looking ladies as I dated a couple back in the day. I assume that's still the case.

We'll just have to monitor Spruceton's progress on the football field and see if enlightenment leads him to Iowa City.
