Spring notes on our OL...any information

Hadn't read much coming out of Fort Kinnick about how the line is progressing. Just curious if anyone has any information.

I honestly don't think the OL will be a problem next year. Going against a top 3 DL in the country everyday in practice will make you grow up and perform faster than it normally would have.

Not OL related, but I have heard from more than 1 person that Wegher is turning into a monster at RB and performing better than anyone expected him to now that he has a year under his belt and knows the offense better.

He was doing what Frosh. are supposed to do when they get thrown in early .Protect the ball. His performance in the OB was much more indicative of what he will bring to the table. I just finished watching the Mich. St. game and those who think ARob was on a higher plane than BW are just plain not paying attention. ARob was important, very important to last years team. But BW is much more of a complete package compared to ARob.
The other thing that slowed BW a little bit was his HS ran plays to specific holes and they blocked extremely well for their age level. Learning to read the holes from a zone blocking setup takes some time to get a feel for.

No info. Practice pictures indicate #1 OL may be Reiff, JV, Ferentz, Gettis and Zusevics, similar to listed in depth chart.
My guess is that it is a learning experience for all OL since so many newcomers and RS Freshmen.

No surprise to me...he cannot be kept off the field. ;)

Hopefully the guys on the O-line really push eachother hard for playing time. There's still a lot of time between now and September so let's hope they make eachother improve that much more. As many people have already stated, the success of this season will rely heavily upon the development of the line. I'm confident that the Captain & Coach Morgan will have a group that is ready though!

Stanzi said the O-line has been playing great. I take that with a grain of salt because thats what he is supposed to say but it was an unsolicited tidbit. He just came out and said it.
Some of the practice videos are good. Reiff has his hands full with Clayborn in practice. Thats a guy that cant wait for the season to start. He wont be facing AC's skill level on a regular basis.
Ferentz looks good. He has a wide frame. You can tell that he isnt packing on pounds just to get his weight up. It looks like solid weight gain.
I wish someone could give me some info on Zusavics. All the spring practice videos and pics and nothing on the Binns vs Zucs match-up.
