When's Spring FB start?

Wondering if the Hawkeyes will hold a Scrimmage/Practice in
West Des Moines, again?

When's the Spring scrimmage at Kinnick stadium?
 




It usually starts around April 7 with Kinnick practice ending it around april 20th.

Right now I would think CJB and Rudock will be getting most of the snaps and Weigers getting a few.

Rudock hasn’t been working out with the team.
 


Yeah, Rudock will be on the sidelines with Beats By Dre headphones and will be rocking a vintage throwback Harbaugh jersey.
 


I can't tell anymore whether posts on the Football Forum are meant to be serious or sarcastic. Assuming good intentions - the Spring Practice/Game is set for April 25. Haven't heard about a DM practice, but my guess is they'll do it again.
 


Anyone have any guesses which player will light up the practice and never be seen again?
 






Some springs don't mean as much. But it will be interesting to see what stories come out of this one. There are a couple big spots on the Oline to be replaced. RBs is wide open. Both DT spots are open. And I think I'm missing one oh yea that QB spot is now all Beathards. I think they are going to sink or swim with him regardless of if Rudock stays I think it's all CJs. I sure as heck hope they don't yank him if he makes a couple bad throws in a half. Let him go play. More then likely this year will be a dud so playing musical qbs will only hinder CJs growth.

With Smith Hillyer Vandeberg and a bunch of question marks after that he'll need to get in a groove with his receivers and that takes reps. Lots of em. So let him take his bumps and bruises and maybe half way through the year and certainly going into next yr CJ could be a pretty darn good qb.

This is CJ's team. Jake is gone. Not even working out with the team. Who are they going to yank him for? Also, we know that KF does not replace QB's easily. Once you're named the starter, you are it until injury or it's the last thing he can do before shutting down the entire program.

I think CJ will open up the offense more, assuming he doesn't have to run the freaking OPTION 40x a game. We have some game breakers in Smith and Duzey...outside of that, we don't really know.

It might not even matter if CJ can't stay upright. Breaking in brand new tackles is going to be the key to the season for this team. That, and on defense can we find anyone that can tackle or defend the edge?

We won't learn anything in the spring game. GD will talk about throwing down field more, using the TE's....and maybe that will come true with having a QB who isn't afraid.
 


I've got the over/under at Game #4 this fall as to when some posters here begin to clamor to see Wiegers.
 


I used to get excited about spring football. Just the little bits of news that come along or looking at the media pics of practice. Now, not so much. Basically the Lick era in football. But I'm sure come fall I'll be watching the Ill St game with as much hope as possible. Not looking forward to the train wreck of a day that could become.

We think Jake is gone.... And I do too. However he won't be leaving till after spring ball when he graduates right assuming we are reading the tea leaves correctly as you pointed out he's not working out with most of the team (he's working out with seniors is what i've heard) and the going to Michigan rumors. So what if CJ gets hurt in spring....? That is a possible monkey wrench waiting to happen... But if it did Rudock may end up staying who knows....

I don’t think this will be the case as our fanbase went from anger to apathy when our taxes got slayed. The majority of fans knew it wasn’t Jake’s fault, and an even larger majority will know it’s not CJ’s fault if things go poorly.
