Yup it's like how catching a ball should be for receivers. Or shooting free throws is in hoops. Reps reps reps. All the QBs in HS that have 3 or 4 yrs of bad habits or no good habits formed and built up can take awhile to get worked out of their systems when they get to college. It's why pro teams prefer taking qbs from pro style systems as well. If nothing else it's just less they have to coach into them day 1. (It's why CJ was taken so much higher than he was)Taking a snap from under center and handing the ball off are things the quarterback has to do automatically without thinking. It isn't a matter of athleticism, it's about body memory. You only get good at it by repeating it, correctly, until your body can do it without thinking about it.
That is a far to intelligent way of thinking. LolYup it's like how catching a ball should be for receivers. Or shooting free throws is in hoops. Reps reps reps. Well I'm a 9er fan and I remember Shanahan speaking to that about CJ at the time they drafted him and even later on during pre season. Not having to go over the basics of taking a snap from center or calling a play in the huddle a million times is just such a huge time saver for them that many coaches (even the ones that enjoy teaching) just get sick of it. They want to maximize all the time they have to work with them and having to constantly teach them how to tie their shoes is just a huge waste. That is a far to intelligent way of thinking. Lol
Ken is an excellent QB coach. I'm excited to see the growth of them.Well I'm a 9er fan and I remember Shanahan speaking to that about CJ at the time they drafted him and even later on during pre season.
