split National Championship scenario

Just for fun, was running thru this scenario after today's wild one:

Either Florida or Alabama loses once in regular season. They then play one another in the SEC Championship game, and the one-loss team beats the undefeated team. Winner of this game secures one of the berths in the BCS Championship game as the BCS #2 team and wins BCS Championship with a 13-1 record.

Texas goes 12-0 regular season, wins Big XII Title game, and finishes #1 in the final BCS poll. They advance to the BCS Championship Game and lose. Texas finishes with a 13-1 record.

Iowa goes 12-0 in regular season, finishes #3 in the BCS, getting shut out of the title game. The Hawks then win the Rose Bowl. With the Texas loss in the BCS Championship game, and the fact that the AP voters get a chance to stick it to the BCS...the 13-0 Iowa Hawkeyes are your AP National Champions!

Fun to think about, at least!

Go Hawks - beat Northwestern!

It's not that crazy. IF Iowa wins out and wins the bowl, they could very well be the ONLY undefeated team left. (Outside of Boise St.). Iowa would most likely get the majority of the 1st place votes.
