Sparty looks tough, Mich not so much

Now that MSU wins, in true Iowa fandom, we got peeps saying it’s because of Michigan being horrible. MSU just beat a top 10 team in the Big House.

It was a huge win and upset and MSU is solid, better than most thought. On paper, Mich likely beats Sparty 9 out of 10 times, but not in a rain storm and not with 5 turnovers to zero.

Michigan is still very good, just not better than MSU yesterday.

It's why college football is awesome.

Michigan was ranked 7th because of the media's love for them and nothing else. The are an average team with a name nothing more. It's proven every year when they blow games they shouldn't lose.

While you are correct in them getting overrated due to name and Mich is not a top 7 team with a backup qb, and maybe not with Speight. But they lost by 4, with 5 turnovers.

Michigan is pretty good, maybe not top ten good, but pretty good.

History tells us if Harbaugh doesn't win this year (Conf or NC) he never will.

Michigan has to accept they aren't an elite program and never will be again.

Really? Never again? They could be the best team in the B1G next year. Playing lots of youngsters.

PSU loses Barkley, they will still be solid but not the same. OSU and Mich are both young with tons of talent...and are both a top level QB from being the top dogs again....Barrett is dang good, but not a great passer.

Yup that is my point. PSU will be raided by the draft this year. OSU and Michigan have the foot above everybody else because of what they will return.

Even if they're "only" a top 25 team, MSU beating them at their place is still a big deal. I'm not sure why so many Iowa fans always down play anything that looks like it favors the Hawks.

This.
There's a group like this who are so prescient that their pre-season perceptions are reality. So even when Iowa wins it's because the opponent sucks. If Iowa beats PSU, then PSU sucks and is over-rated.

Lol it is the "Iowa complex"

With the defense they have on the field, they are not an average team. Not even close.
