The I passed a security clearance re-investigation is a smokescreen. So what? It just means the US Government doesn't think he is a threat to reveal national security information. I don't know who to believe? I'm getting to the point where it appears that this is a Paterno issue only. It is possible Spanier was not fully aware.

None of these people are under oath when they tell their friends or cohorts about how this went down. Wait until they are under oath and see what they say. Anyone can lie to the public when they haven't sworn to tell the truth and can have charges brought if they don't tell the truth.

That is why you don't know who to believe. He is lying. You just don't realize it because you want to give everyone the benefit of the doubt. It's really easy to say someone is a liar when they are a two bit hood. Then, whatever they say is obviously a lie when they are trying to clear their name. When it is a "respectable" person, though, we don't want to believe they are lying because they are "respectable".
